NLP Master Practitioner and Strategic Intervention Coach

About Arjun:

In early Jan 2010, I woke up in the morning, paralysed. My family came in and realised that I wasn't able to get out of bed and carried me to the hospital. I spent 9 days in a hospital bed, poked and prodded, scanned, tested and re-tested. During this time I would have episodes of paralysis and hours where I was just completely exhausted. At the end of my time there, I had been visited by multiple neurologists and Dr's, all of whom were interested in the case as there was no clear reason why this was happening and all my scans and tests were coming back clear. I was sent home with a diagnosis of migraines presenting with auras - a rare condition, which had no clear cause and no real treatment plan. Over the next month I stayed at home and continued to have these issues, the hospital sent me back with a medicine that listed headaches as a side effect to curing my migraines. Needless to say, I was not impressed, as such I started looking up alternatives.

During my search, I came across the work of Tony Robbins, Jim Rohn and was led to fields such as NLP and hypnosis. At an NLP discovery session I sat with one of the founders of the field and asked some questions about how and if NLP could be used in my situation. He told me that I was carrying tension in my face and shoulders and repressed a lot of my feelings and that I should learn some skills and tools that would be useful. Over the next few years I trained as an NLP practitioner and then a Master Practitioner with both of the founders of this field, Dr Richard Bandler and Dr John Grinder. And then studied as a Strategic Intervention Life Coach through Robbins-Madanes Training (RMT) as well as having qualifications as Yoga Instructor and meditation teacher. I constantly search for new and innovative methods and implement them in my approach.

About Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP):

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a field that was originally created by Dr Richard Bandler (an information scientist) and Dr John Grinder (a linguist), who were studying some of the most successful psychologists of their time. Their aim, to create a tool through which to model excellence in the field of human change, they studied psychologists such as Virginia SatirFritz Perls, and Milton Erickson. It also integrated techniques and theories from other renowned mental health professionals and researchers such as Noam ChomskyGregory Bateson, Carlos Castaneda, and Alfred Korzybski. They created the meta-model, a set of questions designed to specify information, challenge and expand the limits to a person's model of the world - this has become a staple for most NLP practitioners and forms the basis for a lot of change work. However, this is only one part of the entire field of NLP, which now is used in area such as: counseling; business; medicine; the performing arts; law; sports; the military and education.

About Strategic Intervention (SI):

Strategic Intervention is a term coined by Tony Robbins, Chole Madanes and Mark Peysha to describe the change work they do. It is the methodology that Tony Robbins uses in his own work and spans across his 35+ years of coaching experience. The primary focus is to help the client define where they are in life, where they want to be and to create a strategic plan through which to develop the resources required to build the life they want. The tools used here are strategies that anyone can learn and use to empower both themselves and the people in their lives to make a powerful positive impact on the world.

This Time Next Year:

My role within this programme is to provide support, and make available to all participants three sessions, using NLP and/or Strategic Intervention.

We will have a 30 minute discovery session to explore the ways in which coaching can help and clarify your goals. We will then decide when and how to use the three sessions that you have available.
